Having fun with Friends

Last Saturday, we went to the Wally and Marilyn to have dinner and celebrate Wally's birthday. My dad and Wally have been friends from their working days at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay in the early 70s. Marilyn and I just shake our heads - they are quite the duo when they get together. In the last 10 years, that have been travelling buddies as well - going to Bali or golf trips in the Southern US.

BTW - the box on Wally's head was the box that had his birthday goodies in it from my dad.

Christina, my Dad, Chris, Marilyn and Wally (Chris was home for the holidays. He showed me how to play bowling and tennis on his new Wii station. It was fun and we all shared some good laughs - but I can see a new way for tendinitis injuries or carpal tunnel syndrome to occur - I am sure we will have to figure out a new code for that type of injury - LOL)

It had been a few months since I last saw Marilyn and Wally - so it was great catching up with Marilyn and all the family news too. Before moving to Calgary myself in 2005, my yearly visits to Calgary would always include my cousins Marjorie and Bob; Marilyn and Wally and of course the James family (I would usually be staying with them on my visits). So since moving here, Marilyn and Wally and I try to get together every few months for dinner to have a visit and catch up. For me, Marilyn and I have gotten closer with sharing etc. Having this kind of support system in Calgary for me has been super. Definitely been blessed for me.
