Dinner with my cousins
While my dad and his ladyfriend Christina was visiting, I was able to have my cousins (on my dad's side), Marjorie and Bob, over for dinner. They were in BC visiting their son Stewart and his family for the Christmas holidays. It was wonderful to see Marjorie and Bob and catch up on family. She had just skied around 16 km the day before in Kananaskis area - said it was the perfect day for a cross country ski adventure in the Rockies. She is amazing lady. Talk about active Seniors - they play bridge, square dance weekly, plus hike or ski in the Rockies near by depending on the season.
I spent many a summer in Montreal/Greenfield Park area as I grew up to visit my cousins, aunts and uncles. I remember one visit (I was in my 20s by now), I had gone to Greenfield Park to visit my dad's side of the family. My cousin Janet was working nights, so while she was sleeping, I walked down the street to Marjorie's for morning tea and a visit. Well, we lost track of time chatting away, and the next thing I knew I was there for lunch as well. It is funny - between my mom, Marjorie and myself - we do know how to chat up a storm and lose track of time when we get together or just talk on the phone. It has been great having Marjorie and Bob living here in Calgary - I can't quite walk down the street anymore, but I have no problem driving the distance to the house for that cup of tea.
