Memory Lane...
Wow, hard to believe that I have been in Thunder Bay for 5 days already. It has been great seeing old friends and some sights of Thunder Bay I haven't seen in a long while. Getting together with Ellen, Sandra and Cathy, laughter is never far behind. Hope you enjoyed your winning dinner Ellen - I lost again this year in Hockey Picks. Sunday, my mom and I went to Ouimet Canyon - it is beautiful, especially when it isn't raining. Yesterday after dropping my mom off at the Athletic's Club - I went for a short walk around Friendship Gardens. I took some photos of the landmarks in the Park that I remember the most as kids. Some of it has changed like the huge waterwheel at the Germany site. Went by the office to say hi to the gals I used to work with. This morning I finally went through the things my mom had put aside for me - it was neat to see the handwriting of my sister and I - my mom had found the letters we wrote her mom (Grandma Grace) when we were kids. Plus some homemade Mother's Day cards I had made for my mom. Hard not to smile. I will go through them later - but my mom is a pack-rat so she had cards people gave her when I was born. Plus the plastic name tags when I was a newborn. For a scrapbooker - how cool is that to have memorabila like that. Soon I will be heading off to Kakabeka Falls and lunch with some of the ladies I used to scrapbook with. It will be great to see them. My brother Bruce arrives today (southern Ontario) - it's the big birthday for our mom tomorrow - she turns 65!! The sun is to hold out - so the plan is to drive to Middle and High Falls near the US border for a little hike and maybe take some photos of the falls. Then we will take her out to her favourite restaurant - it is time for her to spend with both her children. Friday is the BBQ - it will be nice to see the old symphony group. I will post the photos once I get back to Calgary.
