Staying put for a while.....
Well, anyone following my blog will have seen I have been on the road since mid-January as I participated in CIHI's Reabstracting Study this year. 12 weeks is a long time even for me who enjoys traveling. It has been great seeing and meeting people from across Canada, also I was able to see family and friends when I was in their neighbourhood.
I am looking forward staying in one place for a period of time - Enjoy the comforts of sleeping in one's own bed and being closer to my family and friends here in Calgary. Enjoy all the renos that friends Jon and John were able to complete while I was away and catch up with my mountain of paper work and clutter that is tucked in my closet under the stairs. Sort through photos as I have these huge collage picture frames that are placed nicely on my walls. See what it is like to be a home-body for a while.
Someone asked me so where I am traveling to next. I had to laugh as I feel as I have been traveling for the past 12 weeks. I really don't know at this moment - anyone who knows me - I always have ideas of where I would like to travel to, but as we know time and $$$ are kind of needed to make some of those travel plans into reality. I think the plan is to close to home - see how it goes and what the weather is that day. I have a bunch of brochures from Travel Alberta - maybe make the most of my weekends and do spontaneous drives to different areas of Alberta like I had done last year. I remember reading about a sandcastle competition in Northern Alberta and seeing the beauty of little towns like Waterton and Crownest Pass near the AB/Montana border. Of course Alberta landmarks like the Easter Egg and Perogy on a Fork. Haven't been to Edmonton yet - it would be neat to have tea at the Rutherford Tea House in Edmonton (a little trivia - the first Premier of Alberta was a Rutherford - wonder if we are related??) All I can say is - you will have to stay tuned (lol).
