A view as a passenger
As I have mentioned before - I have a fear of heights. As I drove to Jasper, I was "hugging" the mountain so I was okay (still nervous though as I had to try to remember how to down-gear an automatic car due to the slope of the grade!) but I remembered there was a section of Hwy 93 that I would have problems with. With no guard rails, some corners was a straight drop - a tad nerve racking for me. This section is after Sunwapta Falls and before the Columbia Icefield turn off. Unfortunately, I was in complete knots when we got to the section. There was a small shoulder where I turned off - I had to admit to myself and to Sandy that I couldn't drive it - so I asked Sandy if she could drive for a little while. She shared she was waiting as she noticed my intense concentration on the road plus my knuckles were turning white from gripping the steering wheel. Very fortunate that I was not driving alone my first time to Jasper. So once my hands stopped shaking I took the top two photos from the passenger seat. The last photo is where we stopped to have something to eat - The Crossing - a popular place for tour buses to stop too. After the break - I was good to go and did the remaining driving for our trip.
