And the Clouds Float by...

Our first booked activity for our trip was the Lake Louise Gondola. Sandy and I decided to make the most of each day - she was usually up an hour or so before I did I will admit. We made sure that we find out when the gondolas open so we could "beat the crowd". It really worked too - having the smaller group on the top of the observation levels, allowed you to simply absorb the best you could in nature's beauty. It can be so overwhelming at times too. Being May and the Rockies you have to take your chances weather wise - we had it all - rain, wet snow, big flurries, fog, beautiful sunny days and of course clouds. When we got to the top of the Lake Louise gondola observe level we had clouds covering the mountains and your view of Lake Louise and the Fairmount Hotel, but it did eventually clear. So the photos show the gradual passing of the clouds of this wonderful view. I might have to go back in the summer months when the lake will be unfrozen and you would be able to appreciate the brillant colour of the Lake Louise water. In the background is the Victoria Glacier.
