How do you know you have been away too long?
For those reading this blog site or comments made on Facebook, I have been participating in a reabstracting study with our national database. I left for training on January 18th and arrived home on April 1 (I did make a 36 hour whirlwind visit as I passed through Calgary to the Ontario at the end of February). 11 weeks away in total.
The question is: How do you know you have been away too long?
I found out Saturday morning while talking with Sara. We were trying to figure out a game plan to meet up and I replied, "well I have to go to Jon's place and pick him up to bring him to his place" - stopped my train of thought as I realized what I just said. Okay - Jon was at MY place at the time. Jon has been housesitting for me while away. We had a good chuckle over that.
First day back to work - I totally went blank figuring out where to find the forms I needed. Melissa was so patient with me - "my computer...choose Q drive..." Brain fried is best way to describe it. A good laugh by all of us.
It is great to be back home with familar surroundings, family and friends too.
