Beautiful sunny day
I had arrived into Halifax last Sat evening - so on the Sunday I woke up to a bright and sunny day. Will admit I am glad that I had my headband and mittens - that wind sure made it refreshing outside. My cheeks were nice and rosy once I finally got back to my hotel room. It was like going down memory lane as I walked along the boardwalk - the last time I was in Halifax it was July 2002 and I was there with my mom. We went for another long walk along the boardwalk - but we even went further and walked about the Point Pleasant Park - similar to Sibley Park in the Vancouver area. It was a beautiful walking trail - my mom and I were fortunate to see it in all it's glory before Hurricane Juan destroyed hundreds of the trees with its powerful winds.
This is an island I noticed by the Pier 21 museum - I wonder if anyone still lives in that lighthouse - it looks like there are a couple of houses too. Seeing the huge antenna - I am figuring that the brown building might be some sort of communicating building. Could you imagine the view you would have seeing a lightening storm - talk about seeing a "big sky" - there would be no obstructing your view - figuring being there are not many city lights - star gazing would be awesome!!
