It started with Bus #80

Well, the day started with the sun shining brightly through the windows and it didn't look too chilly outside either. So remembering on Saturday night that a bus #80 kept going by the hotel. So I went online to find the times - so off I went this morning on Bus #80 - well turned out to be bit of a tour of the Halifax. On the side of the street I got the bus - headed to the town of Bedford!! Definitely not downtown Halifax which was my original plan. When I realize I was going the wrong way - I saw a Shoppers Drug Mart - so I got off the bus and got my memory stick - only kind they had how lucky I was. Caught the Bus #80 for the return trip and it turns out that I got the bus on the wrong side of the street - who knew?? Well, I can say I have been to Bedford.

Finally getting downtown by the Boardwalk (Wharf). And it began my 2-3 hour straight walking tour of Halifax. Walked from Perk's Coffee all the way to Pier 21 (famous port of entry for immigrants to Canada - how convient that VIA rail is just nearby too). Found Barrington Street where it lead me to St Paul's church that is a historic landmark - Old Town Hall at the bottom of Citadel Hill (unfortunately in the winter the stairs are not cleared so I could not reach the top). Walked to Spring Gardens Road where the little shops are as well as one of the Dalhousie University buildings. Then I walked back to the Hotel but saw a Timmy's - thanks Char for the tea and muffin (Timmy's card you had given to me awhile back).

On the last leg of the walk (my legs were talking back to me) was a bit of a challenge as the sidewalks were not plowed yet which made walking interesting. Plus the skies began to cover the sun so I was cooling off too - so by the time I got back to my room I felt a bit of a chill (not good as I am still trying to recover from my cold that I have had for the almost 3 weeks!). I took a variety of photos along my walk - but to be honest I am too tired right now (it is only 7pm here!!). I will post them throughout the week - I promise.

Have a good week.
