David and Erin's Farewell Potluck

On Sunday, the CCF family hosted a Farewell Potluck Dinner for David and Erin. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with the so many people at once time. We had great food, and great conversations too. After the dinner we were greeted with our first dumping of snowfall too. The roads were a mess and yucky to drive in!! Welcome to Canadian winters!!

Some of the CCF family praying for David and Erin and their children for safe travels back to Kyzyl, Siberia; as well as to be able to continue their work as urban developers - before they left Kyzyl this summer, they have begun making friendships with journalists teaching them English, outreach to the local university, making friends within their community and providing such things as blankets to the local psychiatric hospital. It has been wonderful reading all the contributions they have made since moving to Kyzyl 2 years ago, plus learning (reading) new cultural information (like Tuvan throat singers); as well as the small steps they have made establishing relationships and friendships with the people in their community. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts David, Erin, Emma, Josiah and Ethan. It has been awesome having you so close to home these past few months - how quickly time has come that you now have to head back to your other home. You will surely be missed here in Canada.

Our little Casendra - we can't get enough of her - she is so adorable. Here she is being held by her Auntie Erin.

Casendra our Chocolate Cookie Monster!!! It was a good cookie - but sure was messy too!!! Oh to be a kid again (hahaha)

Laura,
Thanks for posting these pics of the farewell lunch. So sad to have missed it. :( Erin looks absolutely fabulous in that picture of her holding Casendra.
