The Rocket Garden

Today, we took advantage of the inclement weather to head to the coast and the JFK Space Centre. The drive there was interesting as we encountered some heavy downpours again. Once we arrived, the rain was stopped, so we headed to the Rock Garden which is outside near the IMAX theatre. As the rain began we headed to the theatre where we saw a documentary on the landings on the moon (Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17). Apollo 13 of course was the unsuccessful attempt to land on the moon as seen in the movie of the same name starring Tom Hanks, and it was Tom Hanks that narrated this movie. Throughout the documentary there were quotes spoken by actors such as Bill Paxton and Gary Sinase who starred in the movie Apollo 13 too. It was an interesting and informative movie.
