Visiting Naples

Today we headed north to Orlando where we will be staying for the remainder of our stay in Florida. Before we left Calgary, Amanda's mom gave us the phone number of her Uncle James and Aunt Mary Beryl who live in Naples. So after a good breakfast off we went on I-75 to Naples. They are a lovely couple. Uncle James is the brother of Amanda's grandfather Morfar. Now seeing both - you can tell right away that Morfar and James are brothers. For me, it was wonderful listening to Amanda and Mary Beryl catch up with each other' families. Mary Beryl had a wonderful lunch for us too before we headed up to our final destination. Before we left though, Amanda used the computer to show our different blog sites to show them how the families are doing - wonders of the internet. Plus we all exchanged hugs too.

Our drive to Orlando was quite eventfully as we encountered a huge downpouring of rain. So heavy I felt unsafe driving so on two occasions I pulled off under an overpass and waited for the rain to lessen. The first time I thought it had but was sadly mistaken, so I got off the road at the next overpass to hide under. Crazy drivers and leaving hardly any space between them, we were surprised we didn't witness an accident or something. Those truckers are the worst though - barrelling though a top notch speed so their spray made the driving even worst. During the second stop we made good use of our time - we called JFK Space Centre - tomorrow lunch we are not only seeing the Space Centre we are going to enjoy lunch with a real astronaut!!! Now that is an once in a lifetime opportunity!! Stay tuned for that!!!
