Window Shopping
On Monday afternoon, I literally went window shopping for curtains. I forgot to take the measurements of the windows in the master suite and kitchen nook before leaving the house. Both rooms face west, so I receive the full sunshine in the afternoon and evening, so lately it has been quite hot in the back of the house. We finally had a great rain, hail and thunderstorm tonight so it has cooled things down a bit. The front of the house gets the morning sun too - so I do get the both of best worlds for enjoying the natural sunlight.
From my window shopping on Monday, I went back to JYSK today after work and found the proper curtains. Bonus - they were on sale too. Very lucky on that accord - Boy it adds up before you know it. They are microfibre beige curtain panels. Monday I was on the internet converting inches to feet to cm to find the dimensions. I will still have to pin the bottom of the curtains but that is minor.
On the homefront - I have unpacked all my dolls and are now displayed in the Teak Entertainment Unit my mom had given to me. My Christmas cherished teddies are in one of the bookshelves in the basement. So aside from putting up the curtains, it is just my paintings left to display. I have a wee hallway between the two bedrooms which I think I will nickname - Rutherford Gallery as I have a few of my brother Bruce's earliest scenic painting pieces - one he did in an evening art class we did together as kids at Agnew H. Johnson school (I think he was like 11 and I was 8) and one of his animal sketches done in 1981 (wow - 25 years ago!!!) I might add a few of my scenic photographs into the gallery. I have some art work given to me last Christmas from Bruce's wife, Kristin (still need to get it properly framed though) that I can display too. I am having the gals from work over for an open house at the end of the month. Since they have been there from the beginning, they are looking forward seeing it first hand.
