HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!
Wishing all my family and friends a Happy Canada Day!!! Today Canada will celebrate its 139 Birthday!!
Growing up our family trips we travelled to mainly Ontario and Montreal area where we visited family and friends. For a couple of years after college, I lived in Victoria. It is a beautiful island and the winters are a tad warmer than the rest of Canada too. Of course, March 2005 I made a mini-cross Canada Trek when I drove with my friend Amy from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Calgary, Alberta where I now live and establishing roots of my own. We did that trek in 2 days (TB to Brandon, Manitoba on Day 1 and Brandon to Chestermere/Calgary on Day 2). For me it was great to share this with Amy as we were able to catch up and just share our thoughts and feelings too. Another great memory of travelling in Canada was July 2002 where I planned a 10-day trip from Charlottetown, PEI to Halifax, Nova Scotia via Cape Breton to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. We stayed in B&B's along the way until Halifax where we stayed at a hotel. Cape Breton (Cabot Trail) was beautiful and landscapes spectular too. Personally, it was a tad scary at times through Cape Breton as I had to down-gear as the winding and sharp corner roads hugged the coast. Oh yeah - I just had my driver' licence a month before this trip - luckily a guy we talked with at a restaurant taught me how to down-gear with an automatic car. Cape Breton has plenty of maple trees - so I would image the fall colours would be absolutley awesome along the Cabot Trail Ride. Now living in Calgary, I have only need to drive an hour west and I am in the mountain region of the Rocky Mountains. How lucky I am.

Hey Laura, we finished moving Jon in yesturday! Hope you had a good day! As usual your pictures are great and your story line even better. We have Journey now as she was (hopefully past tense) sick with a fever. It sure makes her quiet and easy to look after...we didn't even have to feed her!
Well off to other blogsights!
