Welcome 2006!!!

Happy New Year Family and Friends!!!! I hope you had a wonderful time surrounded by those you hold dear. As in the blog message below, Amanda, Jake and I were half way back to the house when we heard the countdown and cheering of the neighbours. We gave each other a hug to welcome in another year and continued our walk home. Of course, right after that we went to bed (boy must be getting older!!). Amanda made a wonderful breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, tea and Coronation Street. It was fun catching up on the long-running British soap. We headed off to church where the few of us shared some good things that God has given to us and beautiful songs inbetween. I will be heading over to a family friend for dinner tonight - they have known me since I was like 4-5, so imagine the stories they could tell you about me. Did any of you make resolutions last night? I have changed my thinking on that - I call them goals instead of resolutions. One goal is be happy and healthy in the decisions I make this year. With the house hopefully beginning to start building later this month or February - I expect new changes, challenges and rewards to lay ahead for me for 2006. The one thing I would like to continue that I begun in 2005 - deepening the relationships/friendships that I have here in Calgary as well as the family & friends that live elsewhere. There is something I believe then and now - if you have your family, friends and your faith - you will be able to face any challenge in life and grow from it. Wishing you all the best in 2006 - look forward swapping stories with you all this year!

Are you part of the Street Talkers (a Calgary Corrie Club?)

Hi MJ - no I'm not a part of street talkers. Definitely will have to tell my friend about your blogsite. Too bad my aunt in Montreal doesn't have the internet - she is another huge fan. We were (along with my uncle) in a pub in Edinburgh during the diesel strike in 2000. The locals were having a pint and discussing it. It had reminded us abit of the pub where everyone meets on the Coronation street. It was great. All the best to you in 2006.
