Saying goodbye to 2005!
My first new year's in Calgary - one of many I am sure. It was low-key which is great by me. I spent the morning/evening completing the roosters for my church's nursery and Sunday school Rover schedule for the whole year. It is nice to have that out of the way, and organized. Being new to Chestermere Fellowship - I have met via the phone new people to volunteer within the church. So that is cool. Also rang up the phone bill one last time for 2005 - thanks to shaw phone the most it will cost me is $55.00! Was able to chat briefly with my dad in Auckland, New Zealand on actually Jan 1! I went on goggle to find out the times to make sure I wasn't calling at the crack of dawn. Got to love the internet! I guess I should thank Alexander Graham Bell and cyperspace so that I have been able to stay in touch with my dad on his travels down under. In the evening, I headed to Chestermere to spend it with Amanda. We had pizza, chips, iced tea and a couple of movies. We saw A Perfect Man (Hilary Duff) and Kingdom of Heaven (Orlando Bloom). Both were good. Amanda had a great idea - for the Kingdom movie she put it on subtitles. Thank goodness - the dialect was hard to hear at times. I will have to remember that trick in the future esp with scottish movies with a strong brough. We relaxed in the hot tub outside. There was a misty fog so it gave it a wierd feeling. We ended 2005 walking Jake along the bike path. What a great way to ring out a great year!
