My first hike!

This is Amanda James and I at our first hike with Calgary's Newcomers Weekend Hiking club. On this hike we saw Lake Minnewanka (it would be just on the left of me) passing an abandoned mine shaft. This photo was taken just before we took our lunch break. What a gorgeous view of the Lake and the sun was shining too. After lunch we hiked up steeper hills to our destination of Cascade Mountains. The downhill of course was much easier for me. We had good timing too as the rain began just as we completed our hike. It was a great accomplishment for me as the hike was about 9 kms long.
