Hiking in BC

On this Newcomers hike we ventured into BC in Kootenay National Park. We had a beautiful day with the sun shining and a slight wind to keep us cool. Definitely need to have your bottle water though as we worked up a sweat this day. Glad I brought a hat though so I wouldn't get heat stroke or anything. In the distance is Stanley Glacier. We weren't the only ones hiking this trail. Our group arrives early in the morning (9-10am), so parking is better and it's not so hot either. The area surrounding this trail shows the aftermath of a previous forest fire, so the contrast of charred trees and healthy trees was neat. Posted by Picasa
