Me and my Mom

It was wonderful celebrating the Christmas season with my mom who flew in from Thunder Bay. She came with old family favourites - shortbread, gingersnaps and crescent cookies. This was the first time she saw my house - of course it was decorated nicely for Christmas too. She is so happy that I was able to purchase the hosue when I did, before the market skyrocketted. She was a great help with the Christmas dinner preparations. I did make french toast for her on Christmas day morning but I must admit I overcooked them as I got distracted by yapping on the phone - a big no-no when cooking right? I'll learn one of these days. She spoiled me with purchasing some practical household items - a shelving unit that goes around the toilet and mattress protectors. I had packed her visit with meeting other people she knew around Calgary. She mentioned she was impressed with my driving around the city as we went from point A to point B. She couldn't get over how expansive Calgary is - she likes that she can be in her PJs at 7:05am and still be at work on time at 7:30am - a perk with living in small town. Thanks Mom for everything you have done for me - I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and a great listening ear with the different bumps I had over the past year. Love you!
