Gargage Sale!!
On Thursday, a lady from my church called Char to tell me there was a garage sale across the bay that had a push lawnmower for $30.00. Yes you did read correctly - push lawnmower. Once the lawn is in and the deck is built next year, I won't have much grass to cut so I figured that I would get a push manual lawnmower for cutting. Thus avoiding zipping the electrical cord or dealing with petrol. Anyway, it is good for you excerise-wise and Peter James tells me it is good for your grass anyway. Canadian Tire sells them for like $100 on salel, so I thought it was a good deal. Plus never seen it before, it even has a grass catcher in the back. How cool is that? Char has already tried it out on her grass - works like a charm and it looks like it is in great conditon too. Now the next story to this garage sale had my coworkers in stitches (you need your Friday laugh right??) When I picked up the lawnmower I noticed these two IKEA chairs and two stools. They have a forest green colour for the comforter which matches my sectional. I asked how much they were asking them for - $50 for the chair and footstool (checked on IKEA, the footstools alone go for almost $90 each!). All I had in cash was $35 - I asked if there would be anyway to put $5 down for both chair/footstool set and come back on the Friday after work and give the remainder (lucky for me it was payday!). She agreed. This is where the laughter comes in, none of those gals have heard of anyone putting money down at a garage sale. Now lucky I was able to do that as the gal selling it said 7 people asked about it on Friday. Talk about tickled pink hearing that! Nice to have a couple of pieces of furniture in the place before the movers come from TB. Hey Mom and Sara - your sense of getting a great bargain are finally rubbing off on me! (HeeHee)
